World Health Organization (WHO) defines a Sustainable Healthcare System as one that benefits patients, Population, and the environment by addressing the socio-economic determinants of public health, intervening as early as possible in the disease process, providing ‘lean’ healthcare pathways, and reducing the environmental and socioeconomic costs of healthcare provision.
