Abstract

Hospital pharmacy governance plays a vital role in ensuring that patients receive safe and well-managed medicines. This paper explains the major legal standards that guide hospital pharmacy operations and identifies the areas where many hospitals still struggle to meet these requirements. It highlights common issues such as gaps in medication safety, incomplete documentation, sterile compounding problems, and weak communication among healthcare professionals. The paper also discusses the importance of strong leadership, modern technology, trained staff, and patient involvement in improving pharmacy services. It presents practical strategies that hospitals can adopt to strengthen their systems and make care more patient-centered. By understanding these challenges and solutions, hospitals can build safer, more reliable, and more efficient pharmacy governance frameworks.
