In Ayurveda, depression can be closely related to Kaphaja Unmada (insanity due to Kapha ailment) in severe cases and in mild cases to Vishada (moderate to severe depression) and Avasada (mild depression). In this case study, a female patient aged 27 years with complaints of sleeplessness, reduced interest in daily routine, overthinking, worries about job and future for 7 years associated with occasional headache, general weakness, irritability, reduced concentration, and reduced confidence, was taken for the study. Skin diseases primarily affect a person’s external appearance, often disrupting daily life. The immune system’s response to certain triggers can lead to accelerated inflammatory proliferation of damaged skin cells, known as psoriasis. We report a case of a 49-year-old male pati ent with psoriasis covering the entire body (except the face and neck), including both upper and lower limbs, chest, and back. The Auspitz sign and candle grease sign were positive. In Ayurveda, kushta is a broad term encompassing nearly all skin diseases. Twak vikaras (skin disorders) are classified into maha kushta and kshudra kushta. Kitibha kushta is a type that falls under kshudra kushta. The pati ent’s symptoms correspond closely to kitibha kushta under kushta roga. The management of kushta roga involves repeated shodhana therapy, as recommended in the samhitas. The patient was admitt ed to the inpatient ward and underwent shodhana therapy followed by shamana karma, aft er which he showed significant improvement.

How to cite this article:
Suresh R D. Among these, the practice of banana leaf baths has emerged as a culturally significant yet scientifically underexplored method for managing skin disorders. This paper elucidates the multifaceted benefits of banana leaf baths, highlighting their potential bioactive properties, soothing effects, and cultural relevance in therapeutic practices. By examining existing literature and
anecdotal evidence pertaining to the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory characteristics of banana leaves, this study aims to underscore their role as a complementary strategy in dermatological care. Ultimately, the findings suggest that integrating traditional practices such as banana leaf baths into contemporary dermatological treatment protocols may enhance patient outcomes and promote holistic healing approaches in the field of dermatology.

How to cite this article:
Gupta R, Naragatti S.
