Abstract

Public Health is an evolving discipline with ever increasing parameters.
One of the major threats for development in the twenty-first century for
India is the Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) burden. NCDs with their
effects due to dietary and physical activity patterns, hereditary factors,
smoking and alcohol consumption undermine the social and economic
development and threaten the achievement of overall development
goals.
